Throughout class, modifications are shown to help you tailor the moves to your own specific needs and desired outcome.
Not only is Nia a fun, expressive way to get fit, it provides knowledge that can help one benefit out of class, such as balance, flexibility, and increased awareness and vitality.
Nia is done barefoot ( if the temperature allows) to a wide variety of music styles and sounds.

The weekly sessions are based around different themes. Each term there is a new theme such as colours, the home, good manners, transport and seasons. We start to introduce some musical terms, such as pitch, tempo and rhythm through our fun songs, games and percussion.

Nia and Zumba Dance Taster Sessions in aid of Save the Children Posted: May 18th 2013 14:13 | Edit
  Save the Children are holding Nia and Zumba Dance taster sessions at Blue Coat School Hall, Symn Lane, Wotton-under-Edge on Saturday 22nd June. Come along and try the different dances, with sessions led by accredited teachers - no previous experience necessary - all welcome!

Doors open at 10.30am with the first session at 11.00am and we’ll finish at 1.30pm. Refreshments will be available and we’ll hold a raffle too!

Tickets are £6.00 on the door with all proceeds going to Save the Children.

  A 'one-man' lecture/demonstration with Keith Waithe talking about and sharing music with his flutes, tonight 8pm at Under The Edge Arts in The Chipping Hall Wotton-under-Edge GL12 7AD To book go to www.utea.org.uk /> Keith Waithe [LRSM] - is an award winning flautist, composer, teacher, expert proponent of vocal gymnastics and leader of The Macusi Players. A world music Jazz band- blending rhythms from the Caribbean, South America and Africa.
Keith mixes many sounds from his collection of over 204 flutes fusing enigmatic musical forms and world music resonances.
In addition to working on radio, theatre and television Keith's 8th Album “Gathering Echoes” has had rave reviews. Amongst many others Keith has worked with Nitin Sawhney, Courtney Pine and percussionist Bosco de Oliverira.
Keith reaches out to his audiences from early years through to the older generations and is renowned for maximising audience participation.

Love Food Festival at Newark Park Posted: May 21st 2013 12:14 | Edit
  This is an unmissable food festival showcasing carefully selected producers. They will be offering a whole range of different foods at this free-of-charge festival, set in the beautiful grounds of Newark Park in the Cotswolds. The festival is also the perfect opportunity to explore this grand Tudor, National Trust hunting lodge. You can expect strawberries and cream, soft cheeses, freshly baked bread and cakes, local jams, handmade chocolates, local wine, oils, sauces and much more. As well as these various take-home goods to choose from, there will be a buzzing street food sector offering different types of cuisine from around the world. There will be Thai snacks, the finest Herefordshire sausages, Spanish Paella, authentic Italian pizza, grilled British steak with chips, ice cream, cider and cakes, only to name a few! There will also be a talk and advice about foraging given with infectious knowledge and enthusiasm, as well as a company selling herbs and advising you on how to create your own herb garden. Alongside all of this there will be a fun play area for the children. This is an ideal opportunity to get them involved in various activities and to meet other children; whilst enjoying the fresh outdoors, and what nature has to offer at a family-friendly festival like Love Food.
