|in 1953 I stayed in wotton under edge and lived in the COTSWOLD house .The street I don.t know any more beceause every one knew the house . The family WALLACE owned the house. They had 2 boys ; david and Andrew.The part of the house where I had my room was about a100 years old. What I like to know:does the house still exsist. and is there perhaps a foto .They had a gardener who was called :Stinchecome.

If you want more information I,ll try to dig in the past. thaks for helping me

|Lone, I think the Wallace family lived in a big house on the left halfway up bradly street, just past westfields entrance.

|Oh well! What do I know??!!smile Yeah, I know!! Not a lot. Remember, I left Wotton at about 16!! Ive deleted my post so as not to confuse our Dutch friend!!wink

Go to Goolge maps [external link]

Then search for 18 Bradley Street , Wotton-under-Edge. When it then finds the address Click on the A in the Pushpin and select Street view.
You can now wander up and down the street, by clicking on the arrows, and can move the picture by keeping the mouse clicked down and moving it around. The Police station was at the bottom end of the street on the junction with Haw Street.

You may want to reply to this thread at the bottom of this page instead of making a new discussion (just a bit tidier smile)
