Oct 6th 2012 18:49 Report Abuse | | The Town Council should objected, in the demolishing of the Old Mitre Inn. But we know what Stroud Council is like. They will probably pass it, for being pulled down.
Stroud Planning, knows nothing of our town heritage. They have been too found of demolition in the past. Stroud should leave it too our Town Council, too have their say. in any future matters. But will they, i doubt it.
I am against anything of our Heritage pulled down. There is a lot of people in the town, that feel the same way. |

Oct 6th 2012 19:38 Report Abuse | | Absolutely Tubbs! The Town Council can only 'advise' and then state their case to SDC planners.
Obviously there needs to be an overall plan for development otherwise nothing would ever get done, but, and a big one, there needs to be a strong local voice and more common sense which says new isn't necessarily good. Listen to what the residents think - they're normally right. |

Oct 8th 2012 16:28 Report Abuse | | Hi John Saunders. Is the house where the Rising Sun used to be the house where the Luton family lived in the 50's and 60's.
One of the sons Ronnie Luton was my age, he'd be in his early sixties now?! |
