May 15th 2013 22:44 Report Abuse | | Good question. I appreciate the desperate need for affordable housing, because we keep being told about it over and over. However, as mentioned before, the economics and statistics regarding this latest housing development don't add up.
For example, on the rightmove.co.uk website at present there are eight properties for sale in Wotton at a price of £125,000 or less. Sounds a reasonable number, a bit of choice there.
On the other hand, the new houses at Millbrook have been advertised at a cost of £179,995 for two bedroom homes and £229,995 for three bedrooms homes.
So it's not affordable housing at all, not at present anyway, especially when compared with what else is available within the town. |

Potters Pond and Water Lane. Were Industrial land. Before SDC changed it too housing land. We don't need any more Large housing sites in the town. The sewers and the road systems, just can't take it.
It takes you as long, to come through Wotton. As coming from Bristol. "Half an hour". At peak times. |
