Jul 29th 2012 22:22 Report Abuse | | I loved the first hour or so of the opening ceremony. The music was genius. The set was genius. Never mind all the sport, that would have been perfect just as a show in its own right. |

Jul 29th 2012 23:41 Report Abuse | | As the Cycling event was about eight miles from where we live I was able to go there yesterday (Saturday) and see Team GB in action. Shame the mens' team didn't get a medal but the girls' team made up for that today.
DB: BMW churn out the MINI by the hundreds of thousands in Oxford so there is a UK aspect through the manufacturing jobs they provide, as well as a very healthy sales operation for BMW cars in general.
I have to agree with Chand's comment. I know it's wishful thinking but I would suggest that Global Commercial Sponsorship should be eliminated and restore sport to it's roots. Interpersonal competition to determine the best of the best.

There he is - right at the front!

Aug 6th 2012 10:11 Report Abuse | | Just wondering if the closing ceremony will see factories closed, the NHS failing and the unemployed cast having a massive (look away Chand) lamb bbq? |

Aug 6th 2012 21:25 Report Abuse | | I'm fed up with the Olympics. Failure after failure this evening, and it must be at least three hours since we last won a gold medal.
And that thing about Yorkshire being 12th in the medal table and beating Australia - Yorkshire only lead Australia by one gold now. Come on you people of York and surrounding areas, you're letting the side down |

Aug 8th 2012 13:26 Report Abuse | | Wait a minute, how come Yorkshire are against Australia? Has Yorkshire suddenly declared independence from the UK mid-way through the Olympic Games? |

Aug 12th 2012 16:51 Report Abuse | | Of all the millions of words written about these most fabulous of Olympics in the last couple of weeks, these are the best I've read; might be worth five minutes if you can spare them:
