A rare chance to hear a complete performance of Telemann'\;s '\;12 Fantasies for Solo Flute'\; - an extraordinary\, intimate journey through one of the flute repertoire'\;s most beloved works\, performed by acclaimed flautist Nicola Woodward. Georg Telemann was at one time considered as great a musician as J.S Bach and lived an extraordinary life\, surviving tragedy and campagning for musicians rights whilst producing an enormous quatity of written works. Amongst this legacy are his 12 Fantasies for the modern flute that through the 12 different keys demonstrate its full potential both emotionally and musically. Nicola Woodward studied joint first study flute and piano at the Royal College of Music and won exhibition scholarships on both instruments. She also won the Eve Kisch flute prize and several other prizes for all-round musicianship. She has given recitals at the Wigmore Hall and Purcell Room (as winner of the Park Lane Group Competition) and live on Classic FM. She has worked with the London Philharmonic and Bournemouth Orchestras and toured in South America and Turkey for the British Council.
