Suddenly felt the urge to create a thread where we can discuss really boring things.

For example, what is your favourite type of shoe? Mine is a walking shoe. Not a walking boot, but a walking shoe. I walk everywhere in my walking shoes, which is great, because that's exactly what they were designed for. The clue is, after all, in their name.

I do quite a lot of walking, including as part of walking groups, and sometimes I think there is too much speciality walking clothing. For example: walking trousers. Walking trousers? As opposed to what? Sitting trousers? Standing trousers? Dancing trousers?

Anyway, I'm worried that might not be quite boring enough, so maybe I should think of something else to talk about.

What is your favourite type of wallpaper?

What do you think it's better to build houses out of? Stone, bricks, wood, mud, or paper?

Your post had me gripped from beginning to end ZenCat. Me, I like nothing better than sitting in chairs. There are several types of chair to sit in here - arm, dining, easy, Windsor, rocking. What fun it is in life to have such variety.

Yes, there's nothing quite like a nice comfortable chair.

I like pullovers. Especially plain ones because they're more boring.

What is you favourite colour of pullover? Is it grey? Or a dull brown or green?

ZenCat I don't really like any type of wall paper- I prefer paint particularly because you can sit and watch it dry. If I had to chose a wall paper- if you made me choose that is- I would have to say wood chip....

I like dull wood chip coloured pullovers that I can sit and watch drying on the line. Boring or what!

The problem is, the more boring something is, the more one is likely to exclaim, “Wow, this is really boring” and it then the item starts to become interesting purely because it is so incredibly boring. Fascinatingly boring, wonderfully boring, amazingly boring; are these oxymorons, or in fact has the item of boredom started to become interesting just through being so boring?

Me, I like staring at coat hangers. Wooden or plastic or metal, I don’t mind, I just like staring at them. Big ones or not quite so big ones. Hours at a time. Perfectly happy I am, with my coat hangers and the whole staring thing.

This morning I was stood at the top of the stairs. Then I thought to myself, "oh look, it's getting cloudy outside, much cloudier than it was earlier, when I was last at the top of the stairs, which was 37 minutes and 46 seconds earlier." So then I thought to myself, "What shall I do now? Oh, I know, I'll go down the stairs!" So I walked down the stairs, all the way to the bottom, and then I stood there for a bit, then I walked into the kitchen and stood in there for a bit. Then I thought to myself, "I really must buy myself a new grey jumper." Then I went and stood in the garden for a bit, until it started raining, and then I came back inside and sat in my chair for 7 hours and 32 minutes, which was quite nice because I was wearing my favourite pair of trousers. Green, they are. Dark green. Almost grey. But compared to my actual grey trousers, when compared side by side, you can quite clearly see they are in fact green and not grey as some people might think. Also, if I'm wearing my grey jumper you can see that the trousers are green and not grey. Also, if I wear my grey shoes then you can see that the trousers are not grey but are in fact green. However, if I am wearing my green shoes and my green jumper and my green shirt and my green hat, then the trousers do look a bit grey by comparison. Buy they are not grey, they are green.
