My great-great-grandfather was Joseph Mercer who left Kingswood in 1839 to migrate to Adelaide. He married Maria Ellis whose family likewise migrated to Adelaide in 1840. I am writing a biography of Joseph and would like any help I can get.

My original source has been a book my mother wrote about her Mercer heritage (you will find it on my website www.kyema-publishing.com, which publishes eBooks which are freely available to read or download.) Her book is called "Amy's Heritage. The Mercer Story."

Can anyone help with a) more details of the two families b) description of the day to day life of Kingswood residents in the first half of the 19th century and c) pictures, either of the Mercer/Ellis people or relevant buildings such as mills, poor houses etc.

I would love to visit your beautiful region but I live in country Victoria in Australia.
