Hi Andrew. As I have said on the 'Sedgemoor News' thread, I jumped the gun with my criticism of the page and now you have streamlined everything it is a lot better.

As you probably realise, I am a challenged IT user !!!wink

Regards Lone.

Andrew asked the other day, "Anything else ... ?"

Just a couple of things I've noticed:

1. The pre-registration posts, 2004 and before, have now lost the date of posting.

2. Where posts have been removed from a thread by contributors, the search facility can't cope with this and still sends the user to where the post used to be. So, for example, search for 'Leamington' and for both results, the link goes to nothing because some posts have been subsequently removed from the thread. It's been like it for a while; probably nothing that can be done!

3. I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that it's frustrating when people post something and then subsequently delete it, making a thread unreadable, eg Old London Road Closure [external link]. My first two posts on this thread make me sound like a complete idiot, talking about toileting to myself. Given that we're all here pretty much anonymously and therefore not totally responsible for our words, is it worth removing the delete option? What does everyone else think? Or is it possible, if not too difficult, to put a time limit on deletions and edits, say 24 hours, for typos and heat of the moment stuff, and thereafter can only edit by adding a clarification underneath a post rather than deleting the whole thing?

4. Only a small comment on aesthetics; I've always really liked the colour coding of individual threads, but now when you go into a thread the colour of the thread has disappeared. Sometimes, eg Yellow = Chat, its nice to have a subconscious reminder at the top of the page of which discussion you are in. I know I could read the title, I just like the pretty colours blush

5. Now there are 25 posts to a page rather than 10, although I've always preferred longer pages, it looks like internal links are now going to the wrong place. So, for example, the bottom post here [external link] has a link to another page in the discussion board, page 15 of Past Pubs in Wotton, but page 15 no longer exists because of the longer pages and renumbering, so the link is broken.

Website changes always take a bit of getting used to, but all looks very nice so far; thanks Andrew.

Loving the changes, but one thing that has been 'bugging' me ever since
I've been posting here is that when creating a New Discussion, and liking
controlled line endings, a soft return creates a paragraph space rather
than a line break - and I need to immediately edit my post to get the
desired result.

However, on any further posts on my, or any other topics, this doesn't
happen...

Strange... grin

I can't seem to add images at the moment - I've checked they meet all the usual requirements, but no good. Has anyone else had any trouble or is it just me?

As an example, here's my picture below of Lord Lucan riding Shergar in today's 3.15 at Kempton Park:

See - nothing!

Hi Andrew,
The edit function doesn't seem to be working at the moment - it just says "ERROR: update wue_message set message = " etc.
Regards, Chand
