Senior Head Joins Rose Hill's Board of Governors
The Headmistress of one of the West's most renowned senior girls' schools has joined the Board of Governors for Rose Hill School, an independent preparatory school at Alderley near Wotton-under-Edge.
Geraldine Kerton-Johnson is Head of Sherborne School for Girls in Dorset which provides day and boarding school education to around 370 girls from ages 11 to 18 and is one of the regional senior schools of choice for many of Rose Hill's pupils.
"Mrs. Kerton-Johnson's head teaching experience, both in the UK and overseas, will expand the wealth of knowledge and experience of education and the education system that already exists on Rose Hill's Governing Board." says Headmaster Peter Platts-Martin. "We will also benefit enormously from having the perspective of a well respected senior school to help us shape our aims and aspirations."
Other new Governors for the school, which educates boys and girls from the ages of 2½ to 13 include Mrs Alyson Collyer-Bristow whose five children have been educated at the school, Mr Marcus Gunn, Head of The Downs School at Wraxall and Martin Hall, a local businessman involved in a range of companies who has financial expertise.
New Governors is just one of a package of exciting changes taking place at Rose Hill this Autumn term, alongside the appointment of new deputy headteachers and senior teaching staff, the launch of a new life skills programme, and the opening of a new all-weather multi-sports pitch.
