A PARENTS' GUIDE
Who Are We?
Charfield Out of School Club is a non-profit making organisation offering up to 24 places for children from Charfield Primary School and the surrounding villages. We aim to provide a quality childcare provision before and after school, during the school holidays and on in-service days when the schools are closed. We are open to all children aged from Reception up to the age of 13 years.
The Club is run by a team of excellent staff in conjunction with a parent committee. All the staff are warm, friendly and caring and you will always receive a big welcome at our club.
Our latest OFSTED report gave us a GOOD report.
When and Where?
The club is held in the The Foundation Room, situated on the premises of Charfield Primary School. During term time we are open daily:

School Day (7.30am-3.30pm) | £20.00 |
Full Day (7.30am-6.00pm) | £25.00 |
What Do We Offer?
Our service is designed to be "parent friendly" and fit in with your lifestyle either as a working parent or as a parent who wants a break. Many of our parents experience the problems of juggling a career and looking after school aged children.
We aim to provide a fun, safe environment where your children can play and relax before and after school. During the school term, we provide breakfast between 7.30 am and 8.15 am which consists of a choice of cereals, toast and fruit juices. We then deliver the infant children directly to their classrooms in time for the start of lessons. After school children receive a variety of afternoon snacks e.g. waffles, pancakes, toast and fresh fruit and vegetables.
Our Holiday Club takes children from 10 different schools in our area. We have a different topic each holiday and organise arts and crafts, cooking and games. We also help the children get to know one another by bring them together for team games and competitions during the day. The children get a morning and afternoon snack, and they bring their own packed lunch.
What equipment do we have?
Our equipment includes:
A Playstation 3 and Wii games console, a youth club size snooker/pool table, table football, giant connect 4, dressing up clothes, play tent, bricks ... Bean bags, lego, construction toys, board games, cars and garage... A play kitchen and dolls... the list is endless.
We have a prepared daily craft project available for any children that feel creative. We always have paints, colouring, drawing and beads available to use. We have a TV area with soft floor cushions and sofa where the children can curl up and watch TV.
We use the adventure play area and the field of the School, scooters, tennis, footballs etc for the good weather, always supervised by a staff member. We play on the school playground areas when the field is too wet.
Some children like to take part in structured activities and others prefer to play. We provide plenty of choices to keep everyone happy!
Most importantly the children have fun... It's like having friends round to play each night but we do the tidying up!
