Wotton Arts Week : We Love Wotton ... a Huge Success
The beginning of the Arts week in Wotton under Edge opened with a flurry.
The beginning of the Arts week in Wotton under Edge opened with a flurry on Friday 24th when Catherine Johnson, playwright and screenwriter, patron of the Wotton Cinema opened festival at the Civic Centre where an exhibition of local artists was held over the weekend.
The Festival, which includes music, films, art, drama and a full day of community celebration called We Love Wotton, runs through until May 3rd.
On Saturday 25th Market Street was closed to allow a full day of entertainment, competitions and demonstrations from many of the voluntary groups all over the Town. The twinning society sold teas and cakes in the Town Hall all day and in the evening, a party was held as a climax to the days events, with music by Katie Elliot and a magical melodrama from the Dramatic Society.
