    Wotton-under-Edge Historical Society: Woodchester Mansion, Friday 30th Sep

    Our speaker, Liz Davenport, will explore the development of the Mansion using surviving contemporary drawings and archive material from the Leigh family, and will explain why the building was never completed

    Wotton-under-Edge Historical Society: Alan Dolling-The Battle of Nibley Green, Friday 28th Oct

    The Battle of Nibley Green was fought in the spring of 1470 between the Berkeley and Lisle families, who had fallen out over land inheritance and went to war over it. This was the last battle to be fought in England between the private armies of magnates.

    Wotton-under-Edge Historical Society: The Berkeley Vale Railway, Friday 16th Dec

    Howard Parker will cover the History and Future of the Vale of Berkeley Railway line. Volunteers have been working since 2015 to establish a new heritage railway using the line which runs from Berkeley Road to Sharpness.
