    Wotton Gardening Club, Tuesday 18th Feb

    At 7.30 pm in the Gloucester Street Club room, Nick Wray, the curator of the Bristol Botanical garden, will be giving a talk on ‘Making the most of Garden Microclimates’. He will explore ways how these can be manipulated to create better growing conditions for a wider more diverse range of plants.

    Dru Yoga and Relaxation classes. Fun, friendly, relaxed classes for all abilities and levels, including beginners. Fully qualified teacher.

    As our lives get busier yoga can help to take some of the stress out of our day to day lives. Join me to improve your strength and flexibility, calm your mind, learn to relax your body by using movement, breath work and relaxation, to help improve your whole wellbeing.

    Held every Wednesday - 2 classes
    18.15 until 19.30 and 19.45 until 21.00
    At Charfield Memorial Hall, Charfield

    Held also every Monday at Alexander Hosea School, Wickwar

    UTEA: HANNAH SCOTT DUO : 8pm, Saturday 22nd Feb

    From Suffolk via Italy, Hannah Scott performs contemporary folk music and is picking up a loyal following thanks to her distinctive voice, strong melodies and thought-provoking lyrics. She has found her musical home with creative partner Stefano Della Casa and their music has been heard on BBC Radio 2 and 6 Music, including a live session on Dermot O’Leary’s show, and praise has arrived from publications such as The Guardian and Clash Magazine. Hannah’s arresting live performances have earned her support slots for artists including Madeleine Peyroux, 10cc and Seth Lakeman and her music has taken her across the UK and Europe and to the USA.

    TAI CHI & CHI KUNG FREE TASTER CLASS, Monday 24th Feb

    From 19:15 to 20:15.     Add this to your calendar:        

    An opportunity to try out Tai Chi to see if it is for at Wotton Town Hall (just along from the cinema same side).

    The health benefits of Tai Chi, both physical and mental are widely acknowledged and practitioners find that it really helps to manage or alleviate many conditions, the list being endless but including muscular/skeletal conditions (e.g. bad back/neck/shoulders, stress, tiredness and digestive complaints)

    The exercises really are suitable for all and can be as gentle or as dynamic as you wish to make them, but involve much slow movements to allow for relaxation of mind/body.

    The instructor Mark Collins has been teaching Tai Chi for nearly 15 years and is registered as an advanced instructor with the Tai Chi Union of Great Britain.
